Orphaned at an early age, Caelen grew up on the streets of Coruscant. Having to survive, he fell into some shady skill sets that stood him in good stead with the criminal underworld. He was never happy, though, and hated cheating and stealing from innocent people.

Growing up on Corsucant, he was constantly bombarded with Imperial propaganda. From his view, close to the dirt, the Imperials were the good guys and looking out for the common man; It never really occurred to him that the common man was only ever human. So, when he was approached by Imperial Intelligence, he jumped at the chance to be “one of the good guys” and get off the streets.

Oh, how he had misjudged. The things he felt sick about doing as a street rat trying to survive looked like charity work compared to what the agency wanted him to do. He was in the machine, now, though, with no apparent way out aside from death, so he did what he could to mitigate the atrocities he was being ordered to commit. Here and there he’d file a false report, letting a family escape. Take a little extra time to evacuate a housing district before firebombing it.

Then it happened. He was tailing an alleged enemy of the Empire (he later found out it was a latent force user), and was keeping to the shadows to avoid being noticed. There were two things he was unaware of at this point – one, he was tapping into his own latent force ability to help his stealth; and two, there as a Dark Jedi sent after the same target for observation. The Dark Jedi sensed Caelen’s latent power, and flagged him in the Inquisitorius files for followup.

When the summons came, Caelen had to make a choice. He could submit to the Inquisitorius and either become a Dark Jedi himself (and commit that much worse atrocities) or die in the process. Or he could run.

He’s still running, always looking over his shoulder for the Inquisitorius.
